Teachers are still learning!

Hi guys!!! I am here again! Today I am going to talk you about online learning. As you know, I live far away from the city. We are living in a society where everybody can access to anything by internet. You just have to adapt your time to learn using your electronic devices as mobile, tablet, laptos….

Students can online learning but,What are happening with teachers who want to improve their online learning?

Last Tuesday I attended a webinar carried out by MarÍa Jesús San Martín called Mobile Learning and Digital Competence for Education, where she show us training courses for teachers that are offered by Ministry of Education through INTEF (Instituto Nacional de Tecnologías Educativas y Formación del Profesorado) and its Porfolio of the Digital Competence Teaching offers training courses for teachers.

The Portfolio’s goal is to promote acquisition, development and improvement of the teacher’s digital competence. To get it, teachers have to do self-evaluation and the updatable record of teaching, learning and training experiences. You can find 6 levels of Digital Competence (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2). To get all the levels, you can do it along your professional life through the 5 areas of the Common Framework of Digital Competence Teaching. The 5 areas are Information and data literacy, Communication and collaboration, Digital content creation, Safety and Problem solving.
As we said before, teachers can improve their online learning atended some different online digital training resources as:

  • EDU PUPPILS  It is a micro-learning app for teachers to acquire and develop digital competencies and skills in a short time (5-7 minutes). It is oriented to Mobile phone and tablets. It is based on the descriptors of each competency levels and categorized according to the Areas of the Common Framework of Digital Competence for Education. Through this app you can share your achievements on the social networks as well as bookmark your self-training pills on the topics of your interest. It is a very helpfull app for teachers!

  • NOOC INTEF  Through Nooc Intef, you can attend collaborative nano learning and open free online courses. Each course is open for 10 days but the materials remain available for later use. It is focus on the development of digital teaching competencies. You can attend three-hour sessions to reach an objective working on a competency level from the Common Framework and evidence your progress through a digital production. At  the end of each course, you will have a digital open badges, recognising your progress. Some teachers use facilitators and Facebook groups to provided for support and interaction with other teachers.

  • MOOC INTEF Active methodologies emergent pedagogy peer learning, professional learming communities courses for 3-5 weeks. It is a collaborative open learning courses what are linked to non profit-making association projects or other educational associations. It is similar to NOOC Intef. Many mooc intef were reconverted into NOOD. Teachers can use Mooc or Nooc depends of their different learning styles.
  • SPOOC INTEF Self learning online and open couses at your own pace. You can Access whenever you want once is open. There's no specific support but you can use an infernal helping space with a Facebook group. When you achieved your aims, you can get your digital badges.

A porfolio reflects the level of digital competence and providing the possibbility of receiveing certification and follow a recommended upgrade path.
From my point of view, to have my own learning pace is the best advantage. It will be very helpfull for teachers as us. Teachers can use their own projects to support the evidence  and achieve the different competences. We can included digital resources in our daily teaching practice with all the news we can learn assisting to the different courses.
It is a challenge for teachers to  obtain a certain level of digital competence!
Hope you liked and you will be ready to start to get it!
See you soon!
